Pennine Dental appointed JDA Architects to design their new surgery at Salendine Shopping Centre. The original surgery was a small unit within the Centre and an influx of patients required Neil to look to expand his surgery.
The HTM 01 05 legislation insists that dentists look to provide specialist decontamination rooms and therefore the new building was designed to provide up to four surgeries, plus decontamination rooms, waiting areas, and staff facilities.
The new practice consists of four potential surgeries, two are completely fitted out, and two are ready to take dental cabinetry when demand requires. The budget for the whole project, excluding specialist fittings and chairs came in at less than £100,000 making it a very cost effective conversion.
